I love this rendition of the classic tale of this sassy little cookie, as both illustrations and text are beautiful done and very appealing to both children and their grown-ups readers. Using watercolors, sepia ink, and gouache, the illustrator created beautiful pictures with an old-fashioned look to them. A big favorite in our house!

I personally this book for the rhythm of its text and the color of his illustrations and it goes so well with  our "Gingerbread man" Pajamas set.
